

David began his summer camp experience as a five year old camper at North Shore Day Camp in Glen Cove, New York. As he grew older he spent his summers on the shores of Lake Winnipesaukee at Camp Alton in New Hampshire. David moved from camper to counselor and ultimately became the Athletic Director at Alton. Some of his best friends today are the people he met at Camp Alton as a child.
David attended Amherst College in Massachusetts and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in History. He played football and lacrosse there. His love for education led him to Northwestern University in Illinois where he received a Master’s Degree in Higher Education Administration. David taught History and Physical Education at Dwight Englewood School in Englewood New Jersey. He received recognition as the youngest High School Head Football Coach in the State of New Jersey and decided to explore the exciting world of college athletics.
David began coaching at Northwestern University and was honored to be a part of their back-to-back Big Ten football championship teams. Coaching in the Rose Bowl was a dream come true. David has spent thirteen years working in college athletics as an Associate Athletic Director and Assistant Football Coach. He has also been Camp Director at Northwestern University, University of Idaho and the University of Colorado-Boulder. David brings over twenty years of camp experience to Rocky Mountain Day Camp.
During the school year David is the Athletic Director at Alexander Dawson School in Lafayette.

As a child, Holly spent all of her summers at summer camp. She has been working with children herself since she was very young. Holly is a lifelong educator who began her career by teaching the piano to neighborhood kids when she was only 10 years old. She went on to spend the next decade as a camp counselor at the local day camp in Evanston, Illinois. Her love of teaching and passion for children brought her to a career in education.
Holly received her Bachelor’s of Science Degree from Arizona State University and her Master’s Degree in Education from National Louis University in Chicago. She taught Elementary Education for many years at Dewey Elementary School in Evanston as well as Superior Elementary right here in Superior, Colorado. Holly also taughtin the Education Department at the University of Idaho in Moscow, Idaho. Holly will have an active role in
the hiring, orientation and training of Rocky Mountain Day Camp staff.
Holly enjoys cooking and her famous cookies are a sought after commodity at Camp. Her favorite role is being a mom to Paxton, Zoe and Quincy. Holly currently teaches first grade at Louisville Elementary School in Louisville, Colorado.

Tyler Fravel has been working at Rocky Mountain Day Camp since the first day camp opened in June of 2008. In the summer of 2010 Tyler was promoted to Assistant Director of RMDC in Superior and Director of our one-week camp at Centennial Middle School. In the summer of 2011 Tyler continued in the same role as 2010 but was Director of our one-week camp at Casey Middle School. Tyler has 15 total years of summer camp experience as a camper, counselor and director. Tyler graduated from the Leeds School of Business at the University of Colorado, Boulder. He loves playing golf, the New England Patriots, Boston Red Sox and of course, working with children!

Rocky Mountain Day Camp doesn’t just hire counselors, we hire role models. Everyone on our staff loves working with children and they are also specialists in the activities they teach. It is the goal of the Rocky Mountain Day Camp team to make a positive impact on every camper, every day, every summer.
All Rocky Mountain Day Camp staff members go through a rigorous interview process before being selected. Staff members participate in a comprehensive orientation and training program before camp begins.
